The Ministry of Internal Affairs is the civic backbone of the Republic of Checkland. It is responsible for managing citizenship, national voting, domestic administration, public records, and interprovincial coordination. As the guardian of civil rights and democratic processes, this Ministry ensures the transparent functioning of the Republic’s internal operations and governance systems. It also plays a leading role in managing citizen-led legislation under Amendment XXVIII of the Checkland Constitution.

• Citizenship applications, records, and revocation 

• Organizing and supervising public referendums and votes

• Management of provincial coordination and internal data

Citizen Voting & Amendment XXVIII

Under Amendment XXVIII, all national laws — unless exempted by the Prime Minister or Supreme Court — are subject to direct citizen vote. The Ministry of Internal Affairs is the official authority that:

1. Organizes national referenda and polls

   2. Verifies voter eligibility and integrity

   3. Counts and publishes results

   4. Maintains transparency in citizen-driven lawmaking

This guarantees that the Republic remains a direct democracy in principle and practice.
