The Ministry of Defense is the central institution responsible for safeguarding the sovereignty, territory, and people of the Republic of Checkland. Under the leadership of Minister Caleb Littler, the Ministry oversees all military planning, defense coordination, intelligence collaboration, and wartime readiness. It ensures that Checkland remains vigilant and prepared against both foreign and domestic threats.

Responsibilities

• Managing all branches of the Checkland Armed Forces.

• Directing military intelligence and counter-threat operations.

• Developing and enforcing national DEFCON and EMCOMS levels.

• Coordinating defense exercises and readiness protocols.

• Overseeing military logistics, training, and special operations.

• Maintaining diplomatic military channels with allied micronations.

• Enacting continuity of government (COG) and civil defense protocols during crises.

EMCOMS System

EMCOMS is Checkland’s official civilian alert system for military actions during crises, ranging from peacetime operations to existential threats. It directs what information may be shared, how the military should respond, and what communication restrictions are in place.

Wartime Honors

The Ministry of Defense also recommends individuals for awards such as the prestigious Skull of Honour, awarded for extraordinary bravery and service during military or national emergencies.

CIC

Checkland Intelligence Command

The Checkland Intelligence Command (CIC) is the Republic of Checkland’s central intelligence authority, responsible for safeguarding national security through domestic and foreign intelligence operations. Operating under the Executive Office, the CIC oversees the Domestic (CDIC) and Foreign (CFIC) Intelligence Commands, focusing on strategic threat assessment, counterintelligence, and information integrity. While its work is largely classified, the CIC remains committed to upholding Checkland’s sovereignty and constitutional values through lawful intelligence practices.
