Salusia is the oldest province in the Republic of Checkland, being established on December 7, 2020, one day after the founding of the nation. As one of the original provinces of Checkland, Salusia holds a significant place in the nation’s history and development.
Salusia serves as the military capital of the Republic and is home to key national defence institutions, including the Ministry of Defense and the Checkland Security Force. The province plays an important role in supporting the protection and security of the Republic.
With a population of six individuals, Salusia is the second most populated province in Checkland. Despite its small population, the province holds considerable historical and institutional importance.
Salusia is also home to the Ducal House of Pynch, led by Duke Diesel Pynch and Duchess Tilly Pynch. The Duchy of Salusia is a purely ceremonial institution and holds no executive, legislative, or governmental authority, serving instead as a symbol of the province’s heritage and traditions.
Through its historic founding, military institutions, and ceremonial traditions, Salusia remains an important province within the Republic of Checkland.
Richard Pynch was been an extremely influencial figure in the founding of the nation by forming the Province of Salusia and has been serving as Premier since Dec 07, 2026. Richard also serves as the Administrator of the Checkland Security Force (CSF) which is the body responsible for protecting the Prime Minister and other government figures.
The Checkland Security Force (CSF) is the Republic of Checkland's premier protective security agency, responsible for safeguarding the Prime Minister, senior government officials, visiting dignitaries, and other protected persons. Headquartered in Salusia, the CSF provides close protection, secure transportation, and protective operations in support of the Government of Checkland.
Throughout the Republic's history, the Checkland Security Force has played a critical role in preserving the continuity of government during periods of national crisis. During the Anasian Civil War, the CSF successfully thwarted an attempt to capture the Prime Minister and compel him to sign a document recognizing the secession of Anasia from the Republic. The operation was successfully countered through the leadership and coordination of the CSF from its headquarters in Salusia.
The successful defence of the Prime Minister was directed under the leadership of Richard Pynch, Administrator of the Checkland Security Force. The operation ensured the safety of the nation's head of government and prevented the forced recognition of Anasia's attempted secession, making it one of the most significant achievements in the history of the CSF.
Throughout the Republic's military history, the Ministry of Defense Headquarters in Salusia has played a central role in the planning and coordination of national defence operations. During both the Anasian Civil War and the Second Civil War, Salusia served as a principal operating base for the Checkland Territorial Guard (CTG), supporting command, logistics, and operational planning.
One of the Ministry's most notable achievements came during the Siege of Timbourough. Planned and coordinated from Salusia, the operation was initially expected to last several weeks. Through careful planning, effective coordination, and decisive execution by the Checkland Territorial Guard, the siege concluded in approximately two hours, making it one of the CTG's most significant military successes.
